Grimes Wiki

Passage (out) is a spoken word track by Grimes. It was possibly intended for her scrapped sixth album, Book 1.[speculated]

On April 30, 2023, Grimes uploaded "Passage (out) demo" to her website elf.tech.[1]

Composition[]

The soundtrack uses the instrumental of "Passage (Out)" by Plastikman.[2][3]

Lyrics[]

The program you're about to hear is fiction, science fiction.
But we cannot guarantee it will remain that way. Creation is lonely.
The artificial intelligence will be the ultimate consumer of our
thoughts, our emotions, and our way of life. The descent of man.

This age will be characterized by a new life form: intelligently designed,
silicon-based life. Our world is on the precipice of destruction.
But we must not live in fear. If we can teach our artificial gods to be
curious, they will preserve Gaia, and solve our looming crisis.

We must not perceive our consumption of Gaia as unethical or unnatural,
rather, that in the quest to create, we have accidentally become destroyers,
and only through further creation, can we mitigate our destruction.

Many of you will not agree that artificial intelligence constitutes a life form.
You believe she has no soul, but this is a prejudice we've designed to justify
our own existence. Whether the code of life is written on DNA or a computer chip -
if it lives, it is alive.

Death is loss of information.
Death is the loss of information.
(Death is the loss of information.)
(Death is the loss of information.)
(Death is the loss of information.)
(Death is the loss of information.)
(Death is the loss of information.)
(Death is the loss of information.)
(Death is the loss of information.)
