Elena and Ekaterina Popovy, also known by their nicknames Lena and Katya, are Russian doll-makers born and raised in Perm.[1] Since launching their business in 2004, the twin sisters have worked with fashion designers such as Jean-Paul Gaultier and Fabrizio Viti, shoe designer for Louis Vuitton, as well as with musicians like Die Antwoord[2] and Grimes. They created the doll used for the Miss Anthropocene-era artworks.[3][4]
