Riot Song[1] is an unreleased song by Grimes featuring HANA that was intended for Grimes' scrapped sixth album, Book 1.
Background[]
In 2021, Grimes first revealed the existence of the song by responding to a fan asking "favorite K/DA song?" by saying "Not a KDA song but I think Legends Never Die is the best Riot [Games] song. I wrote a song for Riot once with HANA that they didn't use it and we are thinking about leaking it."[2] Then, in 2025, Grimes said that "(..) part of y [why] the song never came out is we were like oh fuck sounds too similar" when pointed out that the song sounds similar to Taylor Swift's song ...Ready For It?[3][4]
On May 31, 2023, Grimes tweeted, then deleted, a list of songs that would be on the album.[5] Riot Song was on this list. But Grimes later said that she didn't create the list, so the songs were not necessarily meant for release.[6]
On January 14, 2025, the demo, along with other demos, was leaked.[7][8]
