he ran away from home when he was 12 and lived in the wilderness, hopped trains across the country and made it to the west where he worked his way up in the logging camps. eventually became one of the most important engineers in canada without ever even attending high school and has broken numerous world records. he designs bridges
im gonna drive across one of his bridges shortly :) <3

4th: Hey — this is a video my friend Video Marsh made for this really old Grimes song from my first record. We were supposed to release it ages ago and somehow it didn’t happen probably because it didn’t comply with the press cycle at the time and since I’ve stopped caring about complying with press cycles im sharing this now.
This is the only post-genesis official grimes video that i didn’t work on myself that will ever be released :). it’s a different vibe entirely as you can see. i think it’s very very beautiful and haunting and peaceful and scary

27th: made some new shirt designs. i feel like we could print with a third colour and i feel like this blue could be more pastel but im stoked on finally having time to make the shirts nice and all this. not that they weren’t nice before but i dunno these are all like, ethically sourced materials and i was able to make some new drawings rather than just dig stuff out of my sketchbook and hastily invert the colours and print on black.
i feel like this androgynous clamp-esque character is the amalgamation of everyone in my touring party lol. i’ll take a better picture later, theres lots of flowers and bubbles and other details that are nice. a dragon symbol thats kind of a rip off of house targaryen in the bottom right.

both these songs mean a lot to me. Neil is one of my best friends and theres something particularly resonant about hearing a love song about someone you love.
the second song is really hard for me to listen too. one time, one of the first majical cloudz shows was happening at this space my friends ran in montreal. I was in the bathroom and devon started performing that song and i burst into tears on this dirty toilet at like, 4 am at this crowded, hazy party.
there was no toilet paper, and i laughed because it was so absurd to be so emotional in such an undignified situation.
i dunno. Devon and matt (and neil too haha) are some of the only friends from that time that I still see in any regular capacity. the amount of love i have in my heart for these people is not something i can express in words. but in any case, it would mean a lot to me if you watched this. I think you will find it to be a rewarding experience.
